Rugby Lessons

At Eden Early Years we offer a range of enrichment and extracurricular activities. As well as offering a range of trips outside the nursery, outdoor learning sessions at the allotment, ukulele lessons, and dancing lessons, we are now running rugby lessons! Our staff member Izzie runs our rugby lessons through out the week. Izzie is a passionate rugby player, and she’s been playing since the age of 5! Izzie has taken her love for rugby across three continents, and has also shared her skills by teaching children in schools and baby groups.

Izzie runs our fun and engaging rugby sessions every Monday and Thursday, and our preschoolers and toddlers absolutely love them!

We make the most of our front garden and turn it into our very own mini rugby pitch, giving the children plenty of space to get active, have fun and develop new skills. During each session, the children take part in a variety of age-appropriate activities, including running, tagging, obstacle courses, passing, weaving in and out of cones and practising their ball skills.

Our rugby sessions are a fantastic way for the children to build confidence, improve their coordination, balance and listening skills, and most importantly, enjoy being active outdoors with their friends. We love seeing their enthusiasm grow each week as they learn new skills, encourage one another and have lots of fun along the way!

We are also able to take our rugby skills beyond the setting and put them into practice during our trips! We regularly visit places such as Blaise Castle and Meade Park, where the children have access to large, open green spaces. These trips provide the perfect opportunity for the children to practise their rugby skills outdoors, including running, passing, kicking and working as part of a team.

Being in a different environment also encourages the children to build their confidence, develop their physical skills and enjoy being active in the great outdoors. It’s wonderful to see them putting their skills into practice while having lots of fun with their friends!

A big thank you to Izzie for making our rugby sessions so enjoyable — the children always look forward to seeing what fun activities are in store!
